They say diamonds are a woman’s best friend, but when one weighs over 1,000 carats, it becomes an empire of wealth…
Seriti, a 1,094-carat rough diamond, has just arrived at the headquarters of HB Antwerp, an exclusive company specializing in diamond cutting and processing, where its true brilliance and value will be revealed.
A Diamond of Extraordinary Origin
Mined in Botswana, a country known for five other diamonds weighing over 1,000 carats, Seriti comes from the Karowe mine, owned by the Canadian company Lucara. This exceptionally rich mine has already delivered some of the world’s most spectacular discoveries, and Antwerp—the global diamond capital—is the only place with technology advanced enough to unlock its full potential.
Now in the hands of HB Antwerp’s experts, Seriti will undergo a detailed analysis of its color, clarity, and internal structure using state-of-the-art tools to determine its final worth, estimated at tens of millions of euros.
A Historic Era for Diamond Discoveries
This spectacular find comes just months after the Karowe mine made history again in August 2024, when it unearthed the second-largest diamond ever discovered—a staggering 2,492-carat gemstone. This extraordinary specimen was detected thanks to Lucara Diamond Corp’s revolutionary X-ray technology.
Discoveries like Seriti and its predecessors confirm that Karowe remains one of the world’s most important diamond sources, continuing the legacy of legendary finds—including the Cullinan Diamond, a 3,106-carat marvel unearthed over a century ago.
