Lauren Sanchez, the girlfriend of Amazon co-founder and second richest man in the world Jeff Bezos, needs "some space".
She doesn't plan to move away from her rich billionaire boyfriend, nor is she planning a trip to private islands or lavish metropolises, she wants to go where her billionaire boyfriend went: into space.
Sanchez and her company are about to leave Earth's orbit. A helicopter pilot herself and owner of the aerial film production company Black Ops Aviation, she said in an interview with CNN that she will be accompanied on her space adventure by a "great group of women".
Jeff Bezos undoubtedly inspired his girlfriend. After all, the tycoon himself flew to the edge of space on the first flight of Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, choosing to have his own man on board: brother Mark Bezos.
Bezos then posted a heartfelt note on Instagram to mark the momentous occasion: “Since I was five years old, I've dreamed of traveling into space. On July 20th I am going on this trip with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend."
Lauren Sanchez talked about her upcoming trip to space with her friends during the same interview in which Bezos revealed his plans to give away most of his $124 billion fortune to charity during his lifetime. So far, Sanchez has not revealed the makeup of the "big crew of women" who will take part in the space trip planned for 2023. Needless to say, we're eagerly awaiting the names.
