Inspiration from the Past Transformed into Contemporary Art...
Under the creative leadership of Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent introduces a new project inspired by the iconic work of Marcel Proust, In Search of Lost Time. This collection of short films, directed by the talented Nadia Lee Cohen, explores themes of memory, love, and time, evoking a deep connection with Yves Saint Laurent's beloved book.
The project brings together an impressive ensemble of artists, including Charlotte Gainsbourg, John Waters, Chloe Sevigny, Addison Rae, Joey King, Travis Bennett, and Cooper Koch. Each film embodies the essence of Proust’s narrative through the unique vision of the creators, blending irony and emotion in a visually captivating way.
At the heart of this collection are the motifs of love, togetherness, dreams, desire, time, and memory. These themes, deeply rooted in Proust’s work, become cinematic meditations that celebrate the complexity of human emotions.
Proust's masterpieces, originally published in seven volumes, examine how the past shapes our identities. Vaccarello, together with Saint Laurent, successfully translates this idea into contemporary artistic expression, offering the audience a unique experience that intertwines fashion, film, and literature.
"As Time Goes By" is more than an artistic project – it is an homage to the time and emotions that define us. This collection not only celebrates the rich heritage of the Saint Laurent brand but also sets new standards in the fusion of fashion and cinematography.
