This limited series is hand-painted with 24-karat gold and features a magnificent insect adorned with 440 precious gemstones…
The Guerlain Bee Bottle, also known as the 'Abeille' bottle, boasts a rich history dating back to its creation by the French perfume house in 1853. Celebrating its 170th anniversary, this bottle has been transformed into an extravagant masterpiece by renowned jewelry designer Begüm Kiroglu of the Begüm Khan brand. Known for her mystical Eastern influences, Begüm Khan was the ideal choice to design the Bee Bottle, given her ability to transform bees, cockroaches, and birds into extraordinary jewelry pieces.
The iconic Bee Bottle is meticulously hand-painted with luxurious 24-karat gold and features a stunning centerpiece – a radiant insect surrounded by a hypnotic array of crystals. This one-liter bottle rests on eight jewels inspired by the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul and features over 1000 hand-set gemstones, all meticulously crafted in art studios in Istanbul.
The perfume Imagine Guerlain in its Eau de Parfum version is presented as an Exceptional Piece, marking a luxurious celebration of the magic of the holiday season. It opens with the seductive trace of magnificent floral notes with a subtle hint of citrusy orange, gradually revealing vibrant woody notes that create an irresistibly warm and sensual composition.
Ann Caroline Prazan, the Art, Culture, and Heritage Director of the brand, highlighted Guerlain's long-standing tradition of collaborating with the finest artists.
Begüm Khan shared her vision of the collaboration, emphasizing her fondness for unique and less conventionally accepted animals like cockroaches and bees in her designs. She jokingly added, 'When you look at a bee up close, it looks weird. You don't want to touch it.'
The Bee Bottle created by Begüm Khan is an exclusively limited edition, with only 40 numbered pieces available worldwide. Earlier this year, Guerlain paid tribute to the 170th anniversary of the iconic bottle with a limited series sold at a price of $27,000, crafted by renowned glassmaker Aristide Najean.
