Set for release next month, Katy Perry’s latest perfume was apparently inspired by Freddie Mercury’s famous lyrics.
Appearing in a jeweled bottle, apparently inspired by a royal scepter, ‘Killer Queen’ is the pop star’s third fragrance after the feline-inspired Purr (2010) and Meow (2011), and it was the lyrics penned by the famous frontman of British rock band Queen that inspired the juice.
According to the 28-year-old singer “Freddie Mercury painted the lyrics of this woman who I wanted to be. She seemed very powerful, and she captivated a room when she walked in,” Perry told WWD.
Killer Queen was created by the pop star herself, working with Laurent Le Guernec of International Flavors & Fragrances (the French nose who has also concocted scents for Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and fellow pop star Mariah Carey).
The scent opens with wild berry, dark plum and bergamot; developing a velvet flower, jasmine rainbow plumeria heart, before a drydown of cashmeran, patchouli and praline.
