Skin care brand Aesop and Finnish design and fashion house Marimekko have collaborated to develop the Aesop-Marimekko Sauna Duet which includes a body scrub and body balm.
The Aesop-Marimekko Sauna Duet body scrub is made of fine-milled Pumice and Bamboo Stem extract to have an effective exfoliation that cleanses the skin, leaving it polished and soft. The Body Balm includes Vitamin E, F, D and Provitamin A with botanical extracts specially selected especially for the moisturizing and relaxing outcome. The duet comes in a recyclable plastic jar and cotton pouch with Marimekko’s “Vellamo” print; a pattern which is an interpretation of moving water inspired by the Finnish national epic Kalevala which was designed for Marimekko by Maija Louekari.
The signature pattern, which was originally conceived as a whimsical interpretation of flowing water, will also appear on a selection of Marimekko summer totes made for holding sauna essentials like robes, towels, and bench covers.
