Ever since the news broke that Raf Simons is joining Miuccia Prada as co-creative director of the brand last year, we have been expecting great things from this design combination…
Having practically cemented their name as one of the most iconic fashion brands in the entire world, Prada has retained its famous triangular logo as well as distinctive nylon materials, remaining a playful, innovative and powerful force driving the industry. For Simons and Prada’s first women's joint collection, the duo experimented with new silhouettes and layers, as well as new logos. When it comes to men's fashion, they have taken the whole story to a new level.
Presenting a collection that largely consists of oversized bomber jackets, tight-fitting suits and tailored single-breasted and double-breasted coats, the new range perfectly combines Prada heritage with Simons’ unique silhouettes and uniform-like creations. In addition, the autumn / winter 2021 range received new colors, including bright shades of cyclamen, dark green and other tones. It is a perfectly wearable collection, which presented the luxurious Prada essence in a flawless way.
Presented in an online format, the show featured walls made of marble, resin, plaster and faux fur, which, according to the brand, simultaneously played the roles of interior and exterior, tenderness and robustness, warmth and cold.
