The cheapest thing that will be for sale will cost $40,000…
If you can't already feel the divide between the world of the rich and the average person - not to mention the poor - Gucci is here to remind you that it really exists! The famous brand will apparently open a whole series of new private boutiques all over the world, which can only be accessed by selected - the richest - clients. The boutiques are part of the brand's growth strategy, after their sales fell by fourteen percent in the last three months of 2022 due to Covid-19 in China, which reduced the demand for their pieces in the United States of America. With the help of this new plan, Gucci wants to provide a more intimate experience to its wealthy clientele, offering them only the most expensive clothes, furniture and jewellery.
According to the representatives of the brand, in the boutiques you will not find things cheaper than 40,000 dollars, and the highest prices can go up to three million, especially when it comes to high-end jewellery. And while some of these intimate salons will find their place in the brand's existing boutiques, others will be completely new.
In addition to announcing new boutiques for its affluent clients, Gucci wants to establish a new position for itself with the help of its new creative director Sabato de Sarno and his collections that will arrive in late 2024. The brand also plans to promote an exhibition of its archives worldwide, with the first stop being Shanghai.
