Louis Vuitton brings rainbow to Beverly Hills.
French luxury fashion house opened its first stand-alone men’s store in California on Saturday. The menswear-only retail store will be located on Rodeo Drive, an address that luxury enthusiasts will surely recognize.
But the space does not look ordinary. Inside you will find a kaleidoscope of colours. Centrally positioned on the first floor is the vibrant yellow sculpture “Giant Man” depicting Ottawa Kwami in a handstand. Also, on the first floor we can see playful, modern furniture and a number of significant artworks, including a three-dimensional acrylic painting by artist Marisa Ferreira. A large, curved staircase leads to the second-floor mezzanine. Here, the VIP room is equipped with a foosball table and specially commissioned murals by Alex Proba.
Merchandise available at the boutique will consist of select pieces from the Fall/Winter 2022 collection, designed by the late Virgil Abloh. Abloh became the brand's artistic director in 2018 and held the position for nearly four years until his untimely death last November.
In addition, the store will also offer leather goods, footwear, watches, ready-to-wear, accessories and collectibles. If you want to add a personal touch, an on-site personalization service will be on offer.
This will be the company's eighth U.S. location dedicated exclusively to menswear. The storefront itself has been completely renovated — the space was previously occupied by the Bijan house, which is often called "the most expensive store in the world."
Today, the exterior has been reimagined, as evidenced by Louis Vuitton's signature Epi leather. Textured panels and large windows give the facade an elegant yet classic look.
