Exclusive private screening of The Doge’s Tailor, a documentary film with legendary venetian tailor Franco Puppato and centuries old, Venetian ducal family Donà dalle Rose, produced and directed by Alex Dordevic of DeGorsi Luxury Consulting with story by countess Chiara Donà dalle Rose, cinematography by professor Ivan Sijak, SAS, took place in Venice at the majestic Ca’ Sagredo palace on September 9, 2024.
Numerous spectators filled the Tiepolo adorned halls and Sala della Musica, applauding to the film creators and cast, led by the stars of the film, maestro Franco Puppato and young nobleman Carlo Donà dalle Rose, who weaved together a mesmerizingly captivating story of a creation of a bespoke suit with ancient Donatus fabric, inspired by the robes worn by Venetian doges of Donà family.
Among numerous VIPs, members of Venetian nobility, political and business elite, numerous partners of Donà dale Rose foundation and many clients of Maestro Puppato, were top models led by Massimo Gradini who wore some of the masterpieces by Sartoria Puppato.
Guests enjoyed fine champagne by Lancelot & fils and selection of delicious wines by Enzo Bartoli winemakers. Apart from the moving story of the film, a highlight of the evening was a special The Doge’s Tailor cake created for the occasion that made the evening even more sweet. Presentations of the film are scheduled for Milan by the end of 2024 and Florence during the Pitti Uomo in January 2025. This film is a part od Masters of Excellence series, conceived by Alex Dordevic of DeGorsi production company, that will present 5 italian cities with 5 top artisans and 5 noble families of each city.
In the film, in addition to Puppato and counts Francesco and Carlo Donà dalle Rose as lead characters, are top model Massimo Gradini, Elisa Egger and Cristina Egger, publicist of the entire operation. The story is additionally enriched by numerous interviews with prominent figures from the world of fashion and handcrafted elegance.
