Conveniently located just steps from Portrait Firenze hotel’s suites is the new Caffè dell’Oro, a popular fine-dining hangout for fashion-conscious Florentines and only a short sashay from the Medieval Ponte Vecchio.
The luxury restaurant is an ideal place to enjoy a Florentine breakfast, lunch or dinner, with views of the Ponte Vecchio and the River Arno.
The restaurant’s executive chef, Peter Brunel, who acquired a Michelin star at the age of 28, is known for using the best selected local Tuscan ingredients, such as Chianina beef from renowned butcher, Dario Cecchini, and Paolo Parisi’s famous eggs. Brunel’s menu includes a mix of tradition and originality, with dishes such as Zibello aged Culatello, Grigio del Casentino prosciutto, as well as typical Italian pastas.
The Ferragamo-owned Lungarno Collection also has the exclusive distribution in Florence of Bocelli family wines, which are available at Caffè dell’Oro. The Bocelli family – now headed up by famous Italian tenor, Andrea, his brother Alberto and Alberto’s wife Cinzia – has been producing wine for over 130 years. This partnership celebrates ‘Made in Italy’ and marks the strong history of both the Ferragamo and Bocelli families.
