Located in a quiet and secluded corner near West Lake in Hangzhou, a villa from the Republic of China era has undergone a luxurious transformation under the guidance of Daxiang Design Studio.

Once a gathering place for the elite, this historic villa is now reimagined as the elegant private restaurant IN VILLA, offering a unique gastronomic experience in a peaceful natural setting.

The restaurant welcomes guests through an entrance that combines the functions of a covered bridge, foyer, and terrace, creating a central landmark leading to the main space. Designers added a voluminous structure to the L-shaped building, emphasizing the importance of the entrance and guiding visitors toward the interior.

Inside the main space, a transparent partition with glass doors catches the eye, behind which the kitchen is visible, allowing guests a glimpse into the meal preparation process. The living room area is thoughtfully separated by a wine cabinet, while the integrated bar, stove, and comfortable sofa bring warmth and functionality to the interior.

One of the biggest challenges was connecting the floors of the former villa, which was solved by introducing an impressive spiral staircase. This architectural detail not only connects two and a half levels of the space but also becomes a visual focal point, illuminated by natural light from the top.

On the second floor, the contrast of red, white, and gray makes the elevator space striking, while additional space is gained by exposing the slanted roof, creating an attic area for a KTV and an exploratory kitchen. The combination of mirrors and wooden beams brings a harmonious dynamic to the dining area, reflecting the exterior landscape and adding depth to the guests' experience.

Design details rely on traditional elements of Chinese aesthetics. The rainy terrace, inspired by gardens, offers shelter for guests on rainy days, while the glass roof allows enjoyment of the rhythm of raindrops. The private rooms exude calm gray tones, with the addition of water elements and lighting effects that create an atmosphere of peace and luxury.

In addition to exceptional design, the restaurant offers personalized services such as "butler" service, including reservations, transportation, space customization, and tailored food preferences. Guests are provided with a unique experience that combines aesthetic refinement, attention to detail, and luxury worthy of an aristocratic home.

When night falls, visitors can end their evening by the pool, enjoying the sight of water cascading down the stone. IN VILLA is not just a restaurant – it is a space where art, nature, and luxury converge, creating an unforgettable experience for every guest.
