Opened just a few days ago, Six Senses Kocatas Mansions are located near the Bosporus...
The northernmost part of Istanbul's European side, Sarieri, is one of the quieter districts of this large city, home to opulent Ottoman-era villas, pine forests, ancient castles and small fishing ports along the Bosporus and the Black Sea coast. Therefore, it is quite clear to us why Six Senses, a brand known for its commitment to wellness, sustainability and local connectivity, has chosen this particular part for its first Istanbul hotel. Just a few days ago, the Six Senses Kocatas Mansions Complex has been opened, occupying two historic villas, located on a six-and-a-half-acre property along the Bosporus.
Formerly owned by the Minister of Justice, Nekmetin Mola Kocatas, a villa of the same name dating from the nineteenth century, was much damaged in a fire five years ago. During the restoration of this property and its combination with the nearby Sait Pasa Mansion villa, the Six Senses brand remained true to its original style and philosophy, restoring old architectural elements, saving numerous artifacts and marble bathrooms that remind us with traditional hammams.
The forty-five rooms and suites offered in the two three-story villas are equipped with all modern conveniences, high ceilings and in some cases views of the Bosporus. If you get a room with a view in this direction, then you will also notice the private boat of the hotel, which is anchored in front of the property, eagerly awaiting guests ready for exciting excursions.
Not all of the benefits of this property are open this month, so future visitors will have to wait to visit the new Six Senses Spa with global treatments and a holistic anti-aging center which will open next year. For now, there are Toto Latin GastroBar led by Richard Sandoval, an all-day Kahve coffee bar and more.
