The new villa of the Al Nassr team star is located within an exclusive gated community on Jumeirah Bay Island...
Cristiano Ronaldo is no stranger to luxurious homes, and judging by his latest real estate investment, the Portuguese football star seems keen to establish roots in the United Arab Emirates following his first season with the professional football club Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia.
The speedy striker, who signed a contract worth approximately $200 million a year with the Riyadh team, has just bought a villa in Dubai, as reported by The Daily Mail. The alleged new home of the 38-year-old striker, which is still under construction, is located on Jumeirah Bay Island, an exclusive artificial oasis known among locals as Billionaire's Island, and is expected to be completed later this year, people familiar with the neighborhood told Bloomberg. It is currently unclear exactly how much Ronaldo paid for this lavish property. However, rumors suggest he spent "tens of millions of euros" on this luxurious real estate.
The seahorse-shaped gated community has become a playground for the ultra-rich in recent years, overshadowing other wealthy enclaves in the emirate, including Dubai Hills, Palm Jumeirah, and Emirates Hills, brokers told Bloomberg. Currently, this affluent neighborhood boasts a private yacht club, a beach resort, and several high-end cuisine restaurants, while Wissam Damaa from Palace Luxury Living and former SoftBank executive Akshay Naheta are in the process of launching a collection of 10 luxury mega-villas on the island, which are expected to sell for more than $545 million combined.
In addition to Ronaldo, some exceptionally wealthy residents already live in this secluded and sought-after community, including Saudi billionaire Mohamed Abdul Latif Jameel and Israeli real estate tycoon Teddy Sagi. Also in the neighborhood is Isabel dos Santos, the daughter of the late former President of Angola Jose Eduardo dos Santos and once the richest woman in Africa.
Ronaldo, who topped Forbes' list of the highest-paid professional athletes in 2023, has amassed quite an impressive real estate portfolio with his stunning earnings. In addition to his new home in the Middle East, the former Manchester United player and his long-time girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez own a luxurious four-story house in the prestigious Madrid neighborhood of La Finca, where his initials are engraved in the metal details on the entrance gate (recently put on the rental market), and is building a $22 million mega-villa in Portugal, where he plans to live upon retirement. The sprawling home will be completed this year and is expected to become the most expensive private residence in Portugal when finished."
