Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, known for his lavish collection of private jets, including an Airbus A380, has restarted the long-stalled Jeddah Tower project, which, when completed in 2028, will surpass Burj Khalifa and become the tallest building in the world...
This impressive tower, which will exceed one kilometer in height, will transform global architecture and forever change the skyline of Jeddah.
At a time when super-tall buildings are being erected around the world, including Brazil's Senna Tower and Emaar Super Tower in Dubai, Jeddah Tower holds a special place. While most of these structures remain below the height of Burj Khalifa, Jeddah Tower will surpass its 828 meters and set a new record as the world's tallest building. Burj Khalifa has held this record since 2010, and Jeddah Tower will break it nearly two decades later.
Adrian Smith, the architect behind Burj Khalifa, designed Jeddah Tower. While its exterior appears simple, the inspiration for its shape comes from the folded leaves of a desert plant, which helps the building withstand strong winds at such heights. The tower had already reached 60 floors before construction halted in 2017. Its massive base relies on a concrete foundation system with 270 piles as deep as 107 meters, ensuring the stability of this colossal skyscraper.

The interior of Jeddah Tower will be just as impressive as its exterior. The building will offer 570,000 square meters of space, with 252 floors, 60 high-speed elevators, and the world’s highest observation deck. Inside the tower, there will be a luxury hotel, office spaces, and high-end apartments, while visitors will enjoy unforgettable views from the uppermost floors.
Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, with a net worth of $17.3 billion, is known for his extravagant lifestyle. As the founder of Kingdom Holding Co., the prince leads a luxurious life with numerous investments in hotels, real estate, and stocks. In addition to his palaces and luxury yachts, the prince owns a private Boeing 747, dubbed the “flying palace,” offering five-star hotel-level comfort.
