As a testament to the power of creative synergy, d'Armes unveils two exclusive lighting collections in collaboration with Consors at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) 2024.
Known for its unique approach to design and crafting premium lighting, d'Armes collaborates with talented designers such as furniture designer Will Chui and product designer Florian Martin. In captivating shades of blue, each piece celebrates the harmonious blending of form and function, enchanting the senses and elevating the aesthetic discourse.
Speaking about the vision and motivation of d'Armes, chief designer Alexandre Joncas said: "Through collaboration, we elevate young talents and optimize expertise in lighting design. Our focus on authentic design reflects our core values and drives our efforts. Sharing our visions and enjoying collective creation is the essence of Consors: a mindset that enables innovation in design."
The first collection, Doppler, channels the Doppler effect and reveals artworks embodying the essence of water: brilliant shine associated with fluidity and surprising light reflections. Over several months of communication and knowledge transfer, artist Florian Martin and d'Armes developed this collection. Whether in the form of single or triple pendants, floor lamps, or wall sconces, each Doppler piece invites exploration of shape and perspective, unlocking a world of creative possibilities.
The next collection, named 1979, emerges as a visual ode to raw beauty and simplicity, merging various standards of utilitarian aestheticism and contemporary design into a seamless tapestry. This collaboration reflects Chui's unique vision for revitalizing the Brutalist architectural movement in the 21st century.
These collections reveal d'Armes' commitment to innovation, exploration, and sharing, offering a bold glimpse into the future of contemporary design and art. All pieces will be showcased at the ICFF WANTED function.
The Doppler and 1979 collections are crafted in the d'Armes workshop in Canada using recyclable aluminum and steel, in partnership with local suppliers. These collections are shipped worldwide with carbon offset measures.
