Kenneth Cobonpue continues to evolve by experimenting with and exploring various materials before creating each unique piece. Design is a living process that constantly transforms in response to a changing world.
“I love innovation and working with different materials. I design things that can only be made with a high level of craftsmanship. What I do is always fresh and new; I’m inspired and excited to apply all these new methodologies in the production process,” says Kenneth Cobonpue.
The designer envisioned creating the "Spin" collection, which would be unparalleled in its lightness, durability, and comfort. Made using carbon fiber, one of the strongest and lightest materials in the world, his new collection is the product of his ingenious creative process. “In our workshop, high-tech materials meet old-world craftsmanship.”
Expert hands lay carbon threads along molds with diamond and knobby patterns in an apparently endless radial pattern – light and delicate yet deceptively strong. The cyclical curved lines resemble the roulette of a Spirograph, with curving lines moving toward the center and then returning in circular motions, creating dynamic forms of hypnotic wonder.
