Benjamin Feinlight, the designer behind the company temporary.company, has created the Rolls-Royère, a sofa inspired by the interior of Rolls-Royce cars.
Until a few days ago, little could connect Jean Royère with Rolls-Royce cars, except for a minor similarity in names which, in fact, was the reason why designer Benjamin Feinlight created an even bigger connection. Jean Royère may not be a well-known name to us, but in France, he is one of the boldest and most liberated decorators of the 20th century, who particularly dedicated himself to designing the most iconic and unusual furniture on the continent.
The inspiration behind this creation stems from Feinlight's recognition of the cultural connotations shared by the names "Jean Royère" and "Rolls-Royce" – both synonymous with exclusivity and symbols of status and taste.
Benjamin Feinlight explains that the "Rolls-Royère" seamlessly blends the DNA of the Jean Royère Ours Polaire sofa with the distinctive design elements of the back seat of Rolls-Royce cars. The result is a striking piece of furniture that embodies luxury and sophistication, merging the worlds of premium automotive craftsmanship and iconic design.
