Since 2016, the Bugatti Chiron has been an unparalleled icon of hyper sports car performance...
Limited to just 500 units, the last Chiron is now hand-assembled by craftsmen in Molsheim and can rightfully be called a vivid custom-made work of art known as “L'Ultime.” This final farewell version of the Chiron marks the end of an exceptional era of performance that made it the first production car with 1,500 hp and the first series production car to exceed a speed of 480 km/h. Just as it entered the world with spectacular elegance and power, so does its production end, on the brink of a completely new era for the Bugatti brand.
This final masterpiece, the Chiron Super Sport, beautifully reinterprets the car that took center stage in Geneva eight years ago, closely resembling its style and visual identity. When it first amazed the world in 2016, the color scheme “Atlantic Blue” with “French Racing Blue,” cut by a C-shaped line made from hand-polished aluminum alloy, was unlike anything seen in the automotive world before. For this 500th and final Chiron, the Bugatti Sur Mesure team has reimagined the original design with stunning color interactions that fade and pay homage to all the places where the car has spread its magic since 2016.
Symbolizing the brand's strength and the evolution of its craftsmanship and knowledge over the past eight years, the two colors adorning this special Super Sport—“French Racing Blue” and “Atlantic Blue”—now seamlessly blend into each other, creating a stunning visual impression from the side, highlighted by colored wheels reflecting the front and rear shades. A custom blue Bugatti macaron, exclusively designed and developed for this farewell version, proudly stands within the grille. In a spectacular final touch, the body features hand-written locations and events that helped build the legend of the Chiron car. Inspired by the philosophy of “bullet speed”—blurring vision at high speeds—this unique Chiron Super Sport hints at its unparalleled top speed, even when at rest.
The aesthetic form of the Super Sport comes alive as the Bugatti Sur Mesure team and the customer decided to create a tribute to this significant moment in the car manufacturer's history, following the most incredible milestones of the Chiron model and celebrating the most important moments in the brand's history, thus bringing to life the journey of this incredible four-wheeler from its debut in 2016 to the present day.
From its stunning global debut in Geneva eight years ago—when it was presented as the most powerful, fastest, and most luxurious car in the world—the Chiron has stood the test of time, remaining at the pinnacle of automotive craftsmanship and performance. Channeling Bugatti’s DNA and embodying the ethos of “Form follows performance,” the Chiron has pushed boundaries, set previously unimaginable standards, and rewritten the so-called automotive norms through a family that includes the Chiron, Chiron Sport, Chiron Pur Sport, and Chiron Super Sport, alongside special editions such as the Chiron Super Sport 300+ and Les Légendes du Ciel.
This fascinating legacy flows through the sides of the unique Super Sport in pure compositional content: the launch in Geneva, appearances in Chantilly, testing phases at the Paul Ricard track, and racing at 482 km/h at the Ehra-Lessien test track. And of course, the historical home of the Bugatti brand in Molsheim, as well as the iconic Château Saint Jean and Cape Canaveral, where many customers have experienced the ultimate speed of the Chiron model.
Celebrating the last Chiron, the hand-written number “500” graces the exterior, wheel caps, and rear wing, and is also engraved on the engine cover housing the magnificent Bugatti W16 power unit. At the same time, it marks another milestone in Bugatti's more than 115-year journey; another 500 incomparable works of art inspired by Ettore Bugatti’s original vision, in a world to be enjoyed for generations to come.
Forming an unbreakable connection with the exquisite artistry displayed on the Super Sport is the highest order of craftsmanship, with exceptional details bringing the eight-year timeline of the Chiron model to life. The French flag, representing the birthplace of the brand and the car, is appropriately applied to the mirror wings. The Super Sport's grille is finished in the now-iconic “Atlantic Blue” color, and the special horseshoe mesh is crafted with centered stripes.
The use of the number “500” seamlessly flows from the exterior to the interior, adorning the Chiron model's cabin to match the nature of the custom-made car. Here, a symphony of carbon fiber for the driver and passenger connects luxurious “Deep Blue” leather and “Blue Carbon Matt” high-tech finishes with hints of the iconic Bugatti “French Racing Blue” shade. Intriguing, hand-woven “Deep Blue” leather, hand-cut, hand-sewn, and applied to each door panel, offers this final Chiron model the quintessence of excellence and timelessness, symbolizing supreme craftsmanship since its presentation in 2016.
“The Bugatti brand is built not only on pure performance but also on absolute mastery, sophistication, and elegance, forming the pinnacle of the automotive sphere. This very special Super Sport—the final masterpiece in the Chiron era—embodies those values, perfectly linking such incomparable core attributes with ease and purpose.
With this custom-made work of art, we have followed the magnificent eight-year journey of the Chiron model with unforgettable moments that occurred worldwide, creating legions of fans, not to mention its countless industry milestones and unique world achievements. This 500th and last Chiron model is a fitting farewell that captures a distinctive legacy that will forever be etched in automotive history and sets the stage for a bright new era, beginning with the production of Bolide and W16 Mistral and continuing with the unveiling of our new model in June,” stated Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti.
In every brilliant detail of the Chiron Super Sport masterpiece, Bugatti reaffirms its place as a benchmark of automotive excellence, completing the circle with the Chiron hyper sports car family that began in 2016. The brand is now poised to write a new chapter of unparalleled performance, luxury steeped in excellence, and custom craftsmanship using the finest materials and the most exceptional savoir-faire.
