In 2010, Mercedes marked its return as a full-fledged factory team in Formula 1 by acquiring and transforming the Brawn GP team into the Mercedes‑AMG PETRONAS F1 team, regaining a status it hadn’t held for more than fifty years.
This return significantly impacted the brand's commercial vehicles, as Formula 1 technology gradually permeated both the mechanical and aesthetic elements of Mercedes models. The pinnacle of this influence is seen in the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition,” a vehicle that not only acknowledges the technical prowess of F1 machines but also embraces their visual appeal.
This special model, limited to only 200 units, is an ode to Mercedes' F1 legacy. The exterior features an Obsidian Black Metallic finish, inspired by the current Mercedes F1 car, adorned with hand-painted stars and PETRONAS-colored accents, reflecting the look of the race cars. The vehicle also boasts 21-inch AMG wheels with PETRONAS rims, further enhancing its exclusive appearance.
The interior of the GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ is equally impressive. The seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather and microfiber, with PETRONAS stitching adding a sporty touch to the cabin. AMG Performance seats and carbon fiber trim details contribute to the sense of luxury and sporting spirit. Additionally, the car is equipped with the Burmester 3D Surround Sound system with 15 speakers, delivering an acoustic experience that matches the car's top-tier performance.
Technologically, the car comes standard with several high-performance features, including the AMG Aerodynamics package, Extended Night package, and Exterior Carbon Fiber package. These components not only enhance the vehicle's aesthetics but also optimize its aerodynamic performance. Notably, the high-performance carbon-ceramic braking system and AMG TRACK PACE function for recording track data further emphasize the racing heritage of this model.
Under the hood is the robust 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, the same as in the standard GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ model, producing 603 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. This engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of an impressive 317 km/h.
The price of this collector's model, although not officially announced, is expected to be around $200,000, placing it among the most exclusive and expensive models in the Mercedes-AMG lineup. As a combination of luxury, performance, and exclusivity, the GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ Limited Edition will attract both sports car enthusiasts and Formula 1 fans.
