Porsche presents the prototype of the fully electric Macan model, setting new standards in the world of SUVs...
This model is a completely new creation, marking the second generation of the popular Macan car, now in a fully electric version. As the first model from the Porsche brand built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the electric Macan is the result of extensive testing and development, combining Porsche's DNA of design with optimized aerodynamics. Development teams have dedicated themselves to every detail, from exterior design to advanced aerodynamic characteristics.
Innovations in design and aerodynamics
Jörg Kerner, Vice President of the Macan production line, emphasizes the importance of balancing design and efficiency. The collaborative work of designers and aerodynamics engineers has resulted in achieving an aerodynamic drag coefficient (Cd value) of 0.25, making the Macan one of the most aerodynamic SUVs on the market.
The Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) system with active aerodynamic elements, such as automatically extending rear spoilers and active cooling flaps on the front intakes, contributes to greater efficiency and a range of over 500 km according to the WLTP standard.
Advanced charging and performance
The Macan uses a 100-kWh lithium-ion battery with fast charging capabilities of up to 270 kW. The 800-volt system enables efficient charging, adapted to various charging standards worldwide. Special emphasis has been placed on testing driving dynamics under extreme conditions, including testing on different surfaces and temperatures, ranging from -30 to +50 degrees Celsius.
The new electric Macan represents the culmination of Porsche's expertise in design, performance, and technological innovations, directing the future of the SUV segment towards sustainability, without compromising the luxury and performance expected from the Porsche brand.
