As we can see, the new model reflects the appearance of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E PERFORMANCE racing car. The gradation of colours from high-tech silver metallic to obsidian black metallic is inspired by a model from the very top of motorsport. The same can be said for the star pattern that we can see on the sides of the car, as well as for the PETRONAS coloured contrasting elements that we can see in the front part, on the sides and the rear diffuser. If we add 21-inch AMG ten-spoke wheels with a matte black finish and PETRONAS rims to all that, we get a perfect mix that attracts attention at first glance.
The AMG Aerodynamics package is not only there to make the appearance of this model more dramatic: larger slopes on the front and rear aprons, a larger rear diffuser and an active profile in the chassis improve the aerodynamic properties. The same applies to downforce and aerodynamic drag. All this brings benefits for high-speed driving characteristics and improved efficiency.
The AMG Night package and the AMG Night package II enhance the visual appearance of the "Motorsport Collector’s Edition". With the AMG Night package, selected exterior features are finished in high-gloss black: the front splitter, side skirts, mirror caps and accent trim on the rear diffuser. Added to this are the blacked-out exhaust pipes. The AMG Night Package II adds additional features in black chrome, including the radiator grille, typography and the Mercedes star at the rear. In addition, the internal components of the headlights and taillights are blacked out. The brake shoes of the AMG high-performance composite brake system are also painted black. The AMG fuel filler cap in silver chrome with "AMG" lettering also underlines the edition's special status.
The standard AMG Performance seats are available with two upholstery options: in black nappa leather/MICROCUT microfiber with red topstitching and an embossed AMG emblem in the headrests, or in black nappa leather/MICROCUT microfiber with yellow topstitching and an embossed AMG emblem on the backrest. The AMG carbon fibre trim is in harmony with the AMG Performance steering wheel with carbon fibre rim and optional heating.
