The Casino industry may have had its share of millions and millionaires but there’s always room for a frst time and for the first time ever, diamond designer Gerry Lewy has created the world’s most valuable Casino Disk.
Canadian born Lewy is a renowned diamond setter and has been practicing his art for the past 53 years.
His ‘Guinness World Record’ ornate disk contains 64 naturally fine quality, unique and rare Pink diamonds. Each of these rare diamonds were set within a period of five weeks – from the date of order to its final setting in the beautiful 22 karat, pink-gold disk. The disk is then surrounded by 17, 1.00 carat exceptional VS, E-F quality diamonds.
Each of the stones set in the disk were inspected under natural light while the diamonds were manually inspected to locate any hidden defects.
The disk also contains 136 grams of Pink gold and is entirely fabricated from 22 carat gold. The Casino-Disk can also be altered according to the client’s specific requirements using any multitude of real gemstones ranging from Emerald, Pink Diamonds, Rubies or Sapphire. However Lewy has reported that his future creations will be available in only 22 carat gold.
The exclusivity index of the disk is increased manifold by the fact that only one such item of this design specification will ever be built and will be labeled as “one-of-a-kind.” The studded Casino Disk is reportedly priced at $366,000 while a Gemological Institute of America Certified Appraiser had valued it at $450,000.
