The renowned brand Pagani has just unveiled a unique Huayra model, perfect for a millionaire who knows how to drive a manual transmission...
With 852 horsepower and a price exceeding $3 million, this is the most powerful and expensive street-legal car with a manual transmission. Named the Pagani Huayra Epitome, this unique supercar was revealed a week before its debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Although Pagani already launched the successor to the Huayra model, the Utopia, in 2022, the Italian supercar manufacturer is known for creating special editions even after a model has ceased production. Commissioned by an unnamed but significant client, the Epitome was developed by Pagani's Grandi Complicazioni division. It took the team nine months to conceive the unique supercar and another ten months to design and develop the Epitome – it’s no surprise that it is considered the pinnacle of Pagani’s street-legal cars.
The biggest highlight of the Huayra Epitome is its manual transmission. Until now, all Huayra supercars were equipped with six-speed or seven-speed sequential gearboxes. However, a deep-pocketed client wanted to elevate the Huayra to the "highest expression." As a result, the Pagani team managed to attach a seven-speed manual Xtrac gearbox to the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine.
The Mercedes-AMG V12 engine powering the Epitome is tuned to produce 852 horsepower, making this unique supercar the most powerful street-legal car with a manual transmission. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via an electronically controlled differential and a tri-shaft racing-style driveshaft. Pagani claims the top speed is electronically limited to 349 km/h (217 mph).
The Huayra Epitome features a stunning body made of bare blue carbon fiber with gold accents. Its unique design elements set it apart from other versions of the Huayra model. The front bumper has an integrated splitter that helps increase aerodynamic pressure, along with larger air intakes, new internal ducts, and special lighting units. The rear end features an integrated wing, aerodynamically optimized taillight covers, and a titanium exhaust system with six outlets. This special edition rides on a set of seven-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires.
Additionally, Pagani claims that the suspension geometry has been revised, which "reduces squat under acceleration, dive under braking, and roll in corners." It also has an active suspension system with a "super soft" mode for extra comfort on rough roads. The interior is lined with carbon fiber and ultra-premium leather. The manual transmission, with its visible mechanism, is undoubtedly the main attraction. Since the Epitome is a unique model, there’s no word on its price. But it will undoubtedly be significantly more expensive than the standard Huayra, which starts at $3 million.
