At the upcoming Icons of Porsche Festival in Dubai, one of the brand's most exclusive models, the 911 Turbo Remastered, will take center stage at an auction.
Crafted by Porsche's Sonderwunsch customization division, this car pays homage to the historic 1974 prototype gifted to Louise Piëch, daughter of Ferdinand Porsche, in celebration of her 70th birthday. The auction, organized by RM Sotheby’s, coincides with the 50th anniversary of the legendary Porsche Turbo.
A Historic Prototype
The original 1974 prototype featured a narrow Carrera chassis and a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine, differing from the later production models equipped with 3.0-liter engines. Its silver exterior and tartan-patterned interior symbolized Porsche's pioneering spirit.
The Modern Tribute
The 911 Turbo Remastered blends cutting-edge performance with retro-inspired design elements. Its GT Silver paint, vintage "Turbo" badges, and Sport Design package harken back to the original, while the interior incorporates retro-green illuminated gauges and tartan upholstery in Lipstick Red and black accents. Additional details include matte black trims and five-spoke wheels reminiscent of the classic Fuchs alloys.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the 911 Turbo Remastered boasts a 3.75-liter flat-six turbocharged engine from the 992 generation, delivering 572 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. This enables a blistering 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h. These performance stats align with the modern 992 Turbo models, but the exclusive retro styling makes this car a collector's dream.
Sonderwunsch Customization
Porsche's Sonderwunsch program allows clients to collaborate with designers and engineers to create unique or limited-edition models. Customers can personalize everything, from materials to bodywork and interior details, turning the concept of a "dream car" into reality while seamlessly blending tradition with modern craftsmanship.
Auction Details
The 911 Turbo Remastered will go under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated price between $330,000 and $430,000. Combining Porsche's legacy, modern performance, and unmatched design, this exceptional car promises to captivate collectors worldwide.
