The luxury safari camp has unveiled new wellness facilities, expanded dining options, an upgraded Canon Brand Experience Centre, and redesigned accommodations, setting a new standard for high-end safaris in East Africa.

Ishara, one of Africa’s premier independent luxury safari camps, has officially reopened its doors in Kenya after an extensive nine-month transformation. As of February 13, 2025, guests can experience a completely revamped retreat that harmoniously blends nature, comfort, and adventure. The upgraded infrastructure now includes a redesigned Aya Spa, a yoga and meditation platform, a Nordic spa center, an interactive kitchen within the aeroponic farm “Shamba of Goodness,” an expanded wine list, and an elegant outdoor fireplace.

A New Level of Wellness in the Wild

Ishara’s newly enhanced wellness offerings ensure a deep sense of relaxation and connection with nature. The Aya Spa, nestled among the treetops, offers serene treatments across two dedicated areas—one for exfoliation, baths, and signature therapies, while the other features hydromassage and hydrotherapy showers.

The Nordic spa combines a sauna, cold plunge pool, and hot tub with breathtaking views of the Masai Mara plains, creating an unparalleled wellness retreat in the heart of the African wilderness. Additionally, a dedicated yoga and meditation platform allows guests to unwind in a setting of pure tranquility.

Elevated Culinary Experiences

Since its opening in 2022, Ishara has become a benchmark for luxury dining in Africa. The revamped culinary division now includes an expanded kitchen and an interactive space for guests eager to explore and learn about African cuisine. The aeroponic farm has been expanded to include 28 towers capable of growing over 1,200 plants per month, ensuring a fresh, farm-to-table approach.

A standout addition is the Pangolin Cellar, a wine sanctuary inspired by the rare and endangered pangolin species. This elegantly designed space celebrates fine winemaking while promoting wildlife conservation. Complementing the wine cellar, the newly built open-air fireplace and lounge offer guests a chance to relax beneath the African night sky, surrounded by the sounds of the wilderness.

A Photographer’s Paradise with Canon Brand Experience Centre

Ishara is home to Masai Mara’s first Canon Brand Experience Centre, giving guests access to professional Canon cameras, lenses, binoculars, and high-end printers. Additionally, on-site professional photographers offer complimentary safari photography services, personalized photography lessons, and professional image editing.

Through a partnership with the Canon Miraisha Program, Ishara also hosts photography workshops for young Maasai community members and local safari guides, helping them develop skills and gain career opportunities in wildlife photography.

Luxury Meets Authentic African Experience

Ishara’s redesigned River Suites are now secluded within the forest, overlooking the river, while the upgraded Villa Suite features a private infinity pool and a fire-lit terrace. The renowned Starbed Experience, which offers guests a chance to sleep under the open African sky, now includes an extended stargazing platform with a stone bathtub, enhancing this unforgettable experience.

Seamless Access to the Masai Mara

Ishara is easily accessible from Nairobi, either by road (262 km) or via a short flight to Olkiombo Airstrip, just 5 km from the camp.

Prices start at $1,500 per person, which includes luxury accommodations, gourmet meals and drinks, exclusive safari drives in high-end Land Cruisers, access to the Canon Photo Studio, private sundowners, bush breakfasts, wellness amenities, and more.
