Mandarin Oriental has announced its plans to open a new resort on the Italian island of Sardinia. The rooms and suites of this destination will offer views of the idyllic Pevero Bay.

Mandarin Oriental recently revealed its plans to open a new resort on the Italian island of Sardinia. This destination, situated in the heart of Costa Smeralda, is set to welcome guests by mid-2026 and will be the fourth hotel of the renowned hotel group known for luxury and exceptional comfort in Italy. The current plans for this project, named Mandarin Oriental, Porto Cervo, include 83 rooms and suites nestled on a slope overlooking Pevero Bay, also featuring unique amenities like a private beach accessible via a 350-meter-long pathway.

Mandarin Oriental, Porto Cervo, is being developed in partnership with Gruppo Statuto, one of the leading Italian real estate groups. The company had previously collaborated with the Mandarin Oriental brand on their Milan hotel, which opened in 2015. This time, the duo aims for an "unparalleled hotel experience," according to their statement. The hotel's exterior, showcased in a new rendering, stands out with its stonework, nestled between lush landscaping and the nearby sea, alongside seating cabins by the pool. However, upon opening, there will be even more options for exploration, enjoyment, and relaxation throughout the complex.

The resort will encompass five independent restaurants and bars offering diverse culinary options. It will also include an essential spa center, and fitness enthusiasts will have access to a gym, while those wishing to swim can use the large open and enclosed pools. An exclusive beach club located on Porto Paglia Beach will provide additional space for relaxation.

Porto Cervo is known for its luxury boutiques, galleries, and restaurants that could be excellent places to explore during the stay. Porto Cervo Marina is also home to the distinctive Yacht Club, known for organizing international regattas and granting visitors access to a spectacular range of coves and hidden beaches.

"We look forward to introducing Mandarin Oriental, Porto Cervo, to our guests and expanding our portfolio of vacation destinations in this region," says Francesco Cefalu, Chief Development Officer at Mandarin Oriental hotel group. "The unique allure of Costa Smeralda, combined with the expertise of Gruppo Statuto, promises the creation of an exceptional resort."
