Last week, thieves broke into the home of former race car driver Frédéric Alliot in the suburbs of Paris, making off with a haul worth around $500,000...
According to a report from Le Parisien, the burglars entered the home of the former 24 Hours of Le Mans participant during the night by breaking through a second-floor window. Alliot reported the burglary shortly after midnight, discovering that his home had been thoroughly ransacked.
The investigation revealed that the burglars meticulously searched the house, and Alliot, a collector of luxury watches, was left without his prized pieces. While specific details about the stolen watches have not been disclosed, it’s known that luxury watches are often a target for thieves. Alliot is not the first driver to be a victim of watch theft—Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Carlos Sainz have also faced this growing issue.
Frédéric Alliot was active in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in the late 1970s, participating four times and once securing a podium finish. He is the younger brother of renowned French driver Philippe Alliot, who competed in Formula 1 from 1984 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1994.
