iffany & Co. has just become even more captivating with its latest release - the stunning Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Flying Tourbillon watch...
A piece of the past paves the way for the future, as this unique model features Asian cockatoos from Jean Schlumberger's iconic Bird on a Rock brooch in the first "flying tourbillon" watch. After two years of development, horological mastery has come to the fore, and the world stands in awe at the diamond-adorned birds.
The dial is predictably Tiffany blue, with clouds made of natural turquoise. It is the perfect sky for two birds in flight, crafted from 18k white gold and adorned with diamonds (a total of 147 diamonds), interrupted by a moon-like subdial, embellished with 168 diamonds. What is unexpected is the "flying tourbillon" at the 7 o'clock position, with a single diamond under a hand-faceted sapphire-crystal dome - another achievement by Tiffany & Co. This tourbillon rotates along with the diamond.
The movement, caliber AFT24T01, is the work of Swiss haute horology manufacturer Artime, consisting of 205 components, with a power reserve of 60 hours. The Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Flying Tourbillon watch comes in a 39 mm white gold case, adorned with 848 diamonds totaling 3.9 carats.
This brilliant example of horological talent comes with a matching alligator strap, fastened with an 18k white gold buckle also adorned with 49 brilliant-cut diamonds. This fantastic timepiece will be produced in a limited edition of only 25 pieces.
