Vacheron Constantin Introduces the World's First Perfume Watch

Vacheron Constantin has created the world's first perfume watch, marking a revolutionary step in the evolution of luxury horology. Their latest model, Égérie – The Pleats of Time, unveiled at the Watches And Wonders 2024 event, represents perfection that merges time and scent into a unique fashion statement.

This 37mm pink gold watch captivates with its subtlety and a brilliant array of diamonds on the bezel, as well as the mother-of-pearl that adorns its dial highlighting the moon phases. The dial also features the Vacheron Constantin logo at the 8 o'clock position, while the crown is unusually positioned at 2 o'clock to achieve perfect balance. Beyond its attractive aesthetics, the watch engages the senses with a dedicated scent infused directly into the strap.

The perfume, created by renowned perfumer Dominique Ropion, known for popular fragrances such as Paco Rabanne's Lady Million and Frédéric Malle's Portrait Of A Lady, interacts with the wearer randomly upon contact with the skin or during movement. In the hustle of daily life, Égérie – The Pleats of Time serves as a sweet reminder while simultaneously keeping track of time. The fragrance opens with notes of lavender and orange blossom, followed by tuberose and ylang-ylang, enriching the olfactory experience.

The watches, characterized by a mother-of-pearl dial adorned with a 'pleats' pattern, are complemented by an original Haute Couture strap woven with exquisite embroidery and pieces of mother-of-pearl. The collection includes two models: one with perfume and the other, presented as an exclusive limited edition of 100 pieces with Yiqing Yin's name engraved on the caseback. It also includes three interchangeable straps in shades developed by the haute couture designer.

Yiqing Yin explains, "This work describes the meandering path of water in a natural landscape, developing its undulating volutes, somewhere between the fragility of shed snakeskin and the elegance of abstract lace. The irregularities adorning the strap bear the imprint of the human hand, creating a visual dialogue with the pure geometry of the dial."

The Égérie concept watch is completed with a stunning Haute Couture dress. "Light fabrics swirl around the body, creating a pleated, swirling display of supernatural hues, evoking the moiré dial diffractions. This undulating silhouette, in harmony with the body, offers a suppleness suspended in time, culminating in the wearer's movement and the caress of the elements."
